Three houses that can be rented on Harbour Island , the jewel in the
crown of the Bahamas and all originally built or restored by David
Flint Wood and India Hicks for friends and family - and therefore not
your "average" rental house, but very much part of our home.

Landing on Harbour Island, famous for it's pink sand beach and the
picture postcard cottages of Dunmore Town, you could be forgiven for
thinking that you'd stepped back in time.

If your idea of a holiday in the tropics is partly inspired by the
imagery of films like "The English Patient", "Casablanca" and
"Indochine" or by the stories of Hemingway, Joseph Conrad, Graham
Greene and Somerset Maugham, then these houses are probably right up
your street .......

.....And now for something completely different ......Savannah on
Windermere island is a cross between an Austen Powers movie set and
Robinson Crusoe. Designed and built in 1967 by David Hicks on a
private island (only 55 miles by road and water taxi from Harbour
Island) - the chance to be an international man (or woman) of mystery
with a 4 mile long white sand beach on which you may not see another
footprint .......
